Medical transportation

Medical transportation

Professional organization of medical transportation in Ukraine and abroad

Transporting bedridden patients is a complex medical process that requires special equipment, trained personnel, and careful planning. For patients who have undergone surgery, have cancer, neurological disorders, or limited mobility, safe transportation is a critical stage of treatment and rehabilitation.

Medical Expert organizes professional transportation of bedridden patients within Ukraine and abroad, complying with international medical safety standards.

When is it necessary to transport a bedridden patient?

Medical transportation in a lying position is necessary in cases where the patient cannot move independently or needs constant medical supervision:

  • after surgical procedures
  • in cases of cancer
  • after a stroke or traumatic brain injury
  • in cases of musculoskeletal disorders
  • when transferring between clinics or for treatment abroad

How is the transportation of bedridden patients organized?

The transportation process is planned individually, taking into account the patient's condition, route, and medical indications. The organization includes:

  • specialized medical transport or ambulance
  • stretchers, vacuum mattresses, fixation systems
  • oxygen support and medical equipment
  • accompaniment by a doctor or paramedic, if necessary
  • monitoring of the patient's condition throughout the entire route

For international transportation, medical documents, coordination with clinics, and border crossing logistics are additionally organized.

International transportation of bedridden patients

Medical Expert has experience in organizing the transportation of bedridden patients to clinics in Europe and other countries. We coordinate:

  • ground or air medical transportation
  • cooperation with the receiving clinic
  • accompaniment at all stages of the route
  • safe arrival of the patient at the medical facility

Approximate cost of transporting bedridden patients

The cost depends on the distance, type of transport, and condition of the patient:

  • transportation within the city - calculated individually
  • intercity transportation - depending on mileage
  • international transportation - calculated individually

The exact price is determined after evaluating the medical documentation.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Can a patient on a ventilator be transported? Yes, our ambulances are equipped with transport ventilators with autonomous power supply and backup oxygen cylinders. The team is accompanied by an intensive care physician.

What documents are required for transportation abroad? A medical report with the diagnosis and doctor's recommendations, the results of the latest examinations, a passport, an official invitation from a foreign clinic (issued by Medical Expert), and a visa for treatment (we can help you obtain one). We prepare all documents in a foreign language.

Can a patient be transported after surgery? Yes, but you need permission from the doctor who performed the surgery. Our doctor consults with your surgeon to assess the risks.

Who accompanies the patient during transport? A medical team of three people: an intensive care doctor, a paramedic, and a nurse. One relative may also travel for moral support (space in the ambulance is limited, so this must be agreed upon in advance).

Can a child be transported? Yes, Medical Expert organizes pediatric transport with a pediatrician as part of the team. The equipment is adapted for children. Parents can accompany their child.

Medical Expert accompanies patients at every stage: from the initial consultation to safe arrival at the medical facility. We work only with trusted medical partners and comply with medical tourism standards.
